World Wide Fishing Destinations

CENTRAL

Central Canada from Eastern Alberta to Manitoba is a vast land of lakes and streams filled with a variety of game fish.  Northern pike, walleye, lake trout, and grayling are found in the pristine waters of this angler friendly country.  Outdoor Adventures offers a number of different fishing experiences in this area that range from full service lodges to wilderness camps that offer serenity in undisturbed natural surroundings.

In the Ft. McMurray area Alberta there are two outstanding lodges.  One is a fly-in trophy pike lake located just 20 minutes from town.  Here you will find a man lodge, two spacious duplex cabins plus a shower house and utility buildings.  It is the only facility on the lake and it is only accessible in the summer by airplane.  Fishing here is primarily for northern pike and in these waters they grow big!  Each year several fish in the 20 to 25 lb range are taken on flies and lures.  The packages are 5 days in length and include the flight, lodging, all meals, aluminum boats, motors and fuel.  There are no guides; the fishing is so good they are not necessary on this 24 sq. mi. lake.

Our other lodge is located 75 air miles northwest of Ft. Mc Murray, also accessible only by aircraft.  The lodge is situated about 300 feet from the lake and there are log cabins equipped with electricity, refrigerator, cooking utensils and running water.  You will look after yourself, cleaning your own fish, cooking your meals and caring for your gear.  There is a camp attendant and a mobile telephone for emergencies.  Anglers fish for trophy sized walleye and northern pike from 14' boats fully equipped with 9.9 h.p. motors.

Just over the border in Saskatchewan is our third lodge, which is located on a chain of lakes at the headwaters of the Clearwater River.  Accommodations include six comfortable cabins furnished with electricity, showers and flush toilets.  Meals are provided in a main dining hall.  The guided fishing is fantastic with opportunities to catch northern pike, walleye, lake trout and rainbow trout.

In addition to the many excellent lakes of Central Canada, Outdoor Adventures books angling trips to the Bow River in southern Alberta.  The Bow is a world class trout stream with over 2000 rainbow and brown trout per mile!  Access is limited so floating is the best way to fish these waters.  The Bow may be fished all year in many sections, however the prime time is June to the end of October.  Accommodations can easily be made in the nearby city of Calgary, a cosmopolitan city of over 700,000 people.
